NorthCountry Federal Credit Union
Description
We started out small, but these days we think big
In 1950, General Electric employees in Burlington, Vermont organized a credit union so they could borrow money from one another at rates better than those offered by commercial banks. Over time, that little financial cooperative has grown into one of Vermont’s largest and most innovative credit unions. Our commitment to providing people with the best possible value and experience has never wavered.
Toward the end of 2001, we opened our doors to anyone in the community. We also expanded our commitment to support nonprofits that make Vermont a better place to live, work, and play. Our employees are provided paid time off to volunteer at their favorite organizations. We support various initiatives, including those designed to combat homelessness, hunger, and diseases, and to promote the welfare of children and animals.
In an industry where success seems to be measured by a company’s bottom line, we focus on feedback. We use unbiased data from outside organizations to gauge the satisfaction levels of our members and employees. These measures allow us to accurately identify in which areas we’re doing well, and where we can improve.
Our mission is to make dreams come true for all by offering personalized financial solutions. As a cooperative, we are inspired and empowered to do the right thing for our members and employees.
